Alright big time update. Working really hard on this project, this is about the size of it, it probably will get taller but thats the basic shape of it.

Ok update, added the windows, added the base thing, and then the height. So that is about how tall the building is. So there is still a lot to do mostly destailing it and adding doors and stuff.

This is looking lovely  I can imagine it looking sort of dusty and cracked, like a Middle Eastern bath house type of building. Will check back for updates :)

Mastahful- Im modelling from pics, thankfully there are a lot of them, and i have been to the place.

kOmoo- thank you, I will continue.haha.

amy_517- thanks for the complements. Actually its more of a spanish style.

wybl- yeah i hope so.

Alright update!! umm, well i have been working on lowering the poly count because, Vue 5 doesnt like the file size to be over like 600 k so there is a lot of work to be done, i have it down so far to 780 k, and hopefully still dropping. So i had to delete the edging, because that was way to high and i modeled it wrong (the edging) So hopefully i can get a render out soon.

There's some great geometry in that model :)

Keep up the good work!

YES!!! finally i was able to get it into Vue. What did it take, i had to delete any polygons that wherent needed (which i should do anyway) and had to split it into 6 parts, but whatever. So now i just have to do alittle detailing and some fixing that i have to do, then the materials and texturing. So here is a render, the windows will look better than they are right now.

beelow- thanks

Ribcage- thanks for the complements and all.

Just joining this thread now. It looks good but looks like a toy ontop of the texture you have it on. Also I would change the camera angle to something more dynamic to show off the modeling you've done.

JuddWack-glad to have you join. Well the render isnt suppose to be the final, that is just to show what i have done and all. I mean i have a lot to do before im done.haha.

I think you should start putting some trees and stuff around it, it would look more real.

You've probably noticed this yourself, but just in case... there seems to be a problem with (I would guess) normals at the side of the leftmost arch. I maybe just can't see very well from the screenshot, but the topology in this area seemed to have a line that teminated at nothing... that's what it looked like to me anyway :) maybe sorting this would fix it. I'm guessing you used booleans for the arches, perhaps you can triangulate the surface which should do it.

I really like the sky.. looks like it will be a bright sunny render :) Spanish/Moorish/Arab architecture having many common roots, that's why I thought Middle Eastern earlier.

Wow its been a long time since ive posted, ive had school and stuff so that would be why i havent gotten to anything. So i fixed the front part, i had deleted some polyons. So its going to be a slow project from now on. haha so here is a quick update.

kippo- im getting there.

amy_517-thanks for pointing that out.

But anyway here is an update, added some stairs and handicap ramps, and the circle this is a planter. So here you go. I also made a little pic of what things are going to kind of look like, the 2 circles to the left are fountains. Is okey if you dont understand it, haha.

Alright I finished the sidewalks!!! Now i just have to do the gardens and the landscaping. So i have a few questions:
1. How should i create the fountains?
2. How should i make the flowers and trees?
3. What should i do about making the material and texture of the sidewalk?

If i think of anything else ill ask you guys.

O man this is sooo....cool, i finally figured out how to add a texture in Modo. I know it sounds like im stupid but man this was fun!!haha, anyway i have to get a different texture for the building or i have to photoshop it. but other than that it looks sweet, also i 2 planters, which was harder that i thought it would be but i figured it out, good learning experience. anyway.

This comes along great! The textures look very good. Perhaps the bevel on the plates is a bit to big, this could be why it looks a bit toy-like.
