Hello all,

I've just spent a week doing an animation test. Here was the outline of the brief:

Guy bored, waiting for taxi.
Hears a noise, gets excited, then realises it's not a taxi.
Bored again
Hears another noise
this time it is a taxi
he tries to hail it, but it flys past
he gets angry
then the car stops and the driver gets out.
the ending is up to the animator

Here's what I ended up with:

I got a good crit from the company, but would appreciate more comments. I may go back in and try to fix it up if I can.

Thanks

HA HA!! I really like it, it has a lot of personality. I especially like how he reacts to the cab passing him by. The only parts that jump out at me as needing more work are after the cab passes him by.

The pose where he throws his head back in frustration is great, but it needs to be held a bit longer!
His 'angry' reaction is hard to read. Is he brandishing his fists...or is he just doing a frustrated growl? I think he should be clearly shouting threats at the driver. One hand cupped to his mouth, while the other is waving a fist in the air. Something like that. Right now hes just shaking, but this is a great spot to work through some fun poses!
His recoil from the driver is funny, but I think it could be pushed further. Recoil faster, take a few steps back, maybe even turn and run!
I like this a lot. I hope you polish it up some more. Do you have a body to go with that skeleton?

Hi Adam,

Thanks for that. I'll go through your list and keep working on this until I think I've nailed it.

There's no 'body' to go with the guy, no. The studio just wanted me to use the skeleton.
