View Full Version : how to get rid of dents and lumps?

Basically my question is about dealing with those lumps and dents that are create when
you start adding detail into a model before been subdivide.

i have seen many amazing images where the surface quality seem perfect
even when the surface got a lot of holes in it.
so i would like to know how do you go about fixing or avoiding this?

Any tips or solutions would be very much appreciated

Relax modifier, used in combination with sub object/soft selections.

It happened when I added noise, but I need it for them to look good. It's an old render, it's a little better now; but the problem remains even though I've gone an fixed it as much as possible.

lots of tweaking, you dont just magically get a smooth mesh, that and practice.

what kind of thing are you trying to achieve?

OR FOR ME WHEN I HAD THAT PROBLEM WHEN I MAD A MODEL. i had to go back over my model and weld vertices together to get the result i deisered.
