I hope someone can help me here.

I've gone through the tutorial 5 on NURBS surfaces, ok.

However, I continued to play around and found the following issues that I cannot appear to find a solution to:

1. If I want to modify the surface and I select points, then all points appear. It is not clear what points relate to which knot.

There is also every point visible relating to the surface. Hence it is difficult to identify the points I wish to move when viewing in different viewports. Is there a way to filter the points that do not concern me?

2. I construct three curves. Two curves are rails and on is a profile. I use Birail to create a surface...no problem. I now wish to add more detail. I delete the surface and add a second profile curve to create a detail on how I want the surface to be built. Now, Birail in this case does not work. And trying the other option also does not appear to work.

Am I going about this contruction correctly? or should I be working on the original surface and add the additional curve by adjsting the subdivisions, then adjusting the points?

Thanks,
Alan.

Are you sure that the new curve you draw has the same number of points? And is the end of the curve in the same direction as the 2 others?

Hope this helps

The answer to both your questions is yes.

I am trying to model a boat hull with the curves. This means that the two rail curves are touching at one end. Does this make a difference to the surfacing method used? As mentione before with one profile curve and the two rail curves everything is ok, its just when I try to add detail.

I tried making the curves by adjusting the points on the surface, but this did not work. The shape went crazy as I increased the subdivisions both in the u and v directions.

Can you help any further?

Regards,
Alan.
