Hey Chaostest, Congrats on the model, it looks great for a 2nd. When i started learning rigging and animation for lightwave, my work got me a Timothy Albee book. Covers pretty basic rigging. It was written for 7.0 But most of it has carried over to newer versions. There is probably books that cover riggin in LW8, i would just do a search on those, here in cgtalk or in google. (or see post below lol).
I couldn't say if there are any good online tuts about riggin and animation, i pretty much just used books/manual. That way i could get help from them without having to slide windows around on the screen and such.
Here it is on amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1556229011/002-4586023-6732806?v=glance)

I haven't read it myself but I heard the Kretin's books are pretty good.
here this is volume 2
which has the rigging. volume one might also be worth checking out since your pretty new. Also the Inside Lightwave (Dan Ablan) book just for the head tutorial written by stu aitken.

It doesn't. It looks like all noob models look, and what all our models looked like when we were noobs.
...but of course, you're not allowed to say that...we're all winners here.

hey thjanks for the encouragement doug macary, although i do have to agree with oddity,it looks like a 2yr. scribble but without the imagination of the 2yr old,i put the reverse anyway just cuz i forgot it4dartist,i been working off a tim albee book essential lw 3d 7.5,but5 it almost has nothing to do with rigging so i was thinking about getting the next one 3d character animation by the same guy, with the wolves.........paul k. funny you mention that book,i was goning to order from kretin when he had that long thread about it coming out,but he replied and said it might be hard for a noob to work off because i would have to decypher different forLW 8 to my Lw 7,again thanks for the replys, im anciuos to get animating so i really didnt want to spend more than 2 days on the model
