Hi all,

I've just done an animation of a character with a 10 sec dialogue. Please download from this link: http://www.kentheman.com/kenloh_dialogue01.zip

I'd appreciate your comments and crits, and any suggestion to improve it more. :)
Thanks!

hey Ken -

nice start - I do think it has some tweaking, but is headed in the right direction.

The part that say " Rob and steal and cheat" is a little molded too muc - if that makes sense. Try and make his lip sync here a little more crisp.

The part at the end - "Even they have to pay taxes!" - the arms and head motion are a little over exaggerated. bring down your arcs a tiny bit and that should help.

overall I like it though.. I will be looking forward to the updates.

I agree with the above...also, the lip sync is not right. In every HALF of a MAIN syllable in a word, your mouth opens and closes...

for example, take the word "cat"

It has one syllable, so your mouth pronounces the word half way by "opening the mouth" and the other half your mouth finishes up the word by closing. Your lip sync looks weird because each complete word has a mouth opening, then after the word it closes.

In everybody, this is how it should be broken down

eve-ry-bo-dy.

for eve, the mouth opens and closes, for ry, the mouth open and closes, for bo, the mouth opens and closes, and dy, well, you know...

taxes would be:

tax-es (ta-xes?)

so on tax, the the mouth opens and closes, and on es, the mouth opens and closes...

It's very easy to understand this concept when a character that has no phoenome shapes with his mouth.

just think about that a bit

Thanks for the comments, guys!

jamagica: Yup, I understand that concept of lip synching and have applied it to the animation. But after you've pointed this out, I've re-examined the lip sync of my animation and on closer examination, I've realised that I have missed out the lip sync of certain syllables. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, appreciate that!

I'll work on it more and post some updates soon. :)
