View Full Version : Medic!!!
Blackarts 11-03-2002, 04:30 AM Here's a little concept art I did in my spare time, strictly for fun. I took a sketch into painter, and used it as a guide....took about 2 days to complete, working nights. Basically just something to practice my painting skills on.
cheers,

Hey Blackarts!
Very nice work!! I like the style and the atmosphere. Which version of Painter did u use cause I've got Painter Classic and it sucks to work with on big pieces... Anyway, I'd like to collab some time with you! Would be fun!
Greetzzz!

.. no i mean.. the concept reminds me of a game called infantry..
.. but now you've said it , it does look like a soldier a bit.. but in a good way .., more of the protecting and healing kind ;)

Sangotten - just got version 7 and having a lot of fun with it. your website is cool, I'd like to see more of your work.
fireman- I start really simply just laying down base colors, then working up the shadows and highlights. A lot of people use this technique, im sure there must be some tutorials floating out there somewhwere. I find myself using the round camelhair and round smeary brushed the most. Also if you want to give it some texture you can use some chalk and sort of work up some roughened areas.
thanks for the comments guys.

Wicked work as always Daryl. Very nice painting skillz on it. I was waiting till I had something worth while to say before I added a reply to it.
I think you could really play on the whole medic thing a bit more. Use you're twisted imagination to come up with some sick shit(think of your other medic/butcher pic that you did a while ago). Like what about a bag full of spare body parts, to temporarily fix paitents... just stitch em up and they're like new! Or some IV bags hanging from his shoulders and back? There could be tons of sick ideas to go along with this one to make it really stand out.
I think you should paint this one like your last couple and make it really dark and twisted!
Hopefully see yah tonight for wings.
Later
Very cool! Seems a bit too clean though.
