Not sure if I really got the point across with this one, but it's 4 in the morning and I'm ready to throw in the towel.

EDIT: seriously, no pun intended.

Methodicalj: Ha, I know how that feels...raging against your very own self!
It looks as if you drew the outlines first, then filled in with the fill tool...it usually works better if you use layers with a background...
Zeitwolf: You had fun with the buttocks, didn't you? :D
DigitalEmbryo:Great linework and fun concept also.
Enialdam: Funny! I knew someone would come up with a 'Kill Bill' concept. Looks like you're experimenting with brushes, fun isn't it?

Here's mine. PLEDGE 3/7.

Pen - 1 hour, then Photoshop 6, mouse, 2.5 hours

P.S.: if you didn't understand - there are a couple of girls driving ;)

Gret work everyone.

paperclip: haha yep Kill Bill was a definate influence for this one ;) and your right I am experimenting, I created so many new brushes on my last painting so am still playing with them.

Your pics great, has a nice sketchy feel.

ButchMakora: heehee cool idea! Nicely composition and perspective going on there too!

zeitwofl: this is so funny, haha I feel evil for laughing at the fact that girl got her head blown off, but I can't help it. Nice work on the but cheeks ;)

Rawwad: wow this is great, really cool 'concept' style. nice work!

This is the first time I participate a sketchforum but I tought I'd give it a try :)
I wanted to give the girlfight a different direction. Most girls are very concerned about their appearance and if they meet a 'rival', they want her to look as bad(in this case:fat) as possible! *evil*

I have found out painter again. Soo this is mutch a test of the program. The main idea was two transvestites fighting each other. Now i'm tired so details like the wig and the breast substitute became just insunations.

Painter, 1,5-2 hours. The Pledge 3/7 (oh, i love the pledge. it have given us a boom sketches´)

I think she is a paladin or something. Or maybe the little red demons have put a lightbulb in her head and that made her angry, not sure about that yet.

OMG!!! Gord - I was going to do something for this topic, but I'm practically in a state of shock after reading about that poor girl, in this section of her website.

That was one of the most disturbing and sad stories I've ever read. Maybe I'll come back and do something for this topic after I've recovered.

OpenCanvas/GIMP on Wacom. Ran out of time on this, stopped at 2 hours; Sadly, it didn't look too much different at 60 minutes... this still looks very 2D, more shading is needed on the girl's face and hair I think.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/gauntman/sketch/sketch443.jpg

digital_embryo - nice character design, blood looks a bit like a stretched brush, though more realism on the blood might make this too grostesque.

rawwad - compelling composition. The sword as seperator is particularly nice; Eyes on foreground figure well done.

lunae - welcome, and excellent start to the sketch group! Characters are good, but colors could be a bit more vibrant.

-Brittany- Great color choices, great figure design, great facial expressions.

createmai - loose, sketchy feel, but you still keep plenty of detail. I also like your blade design.

pipichu - bold use of color and shape. Is she checking her make-up in the broken glasses of her fallen foe?

So many good entries. :)
Brittany: Love that one. :)
Pipichu: Great style as always.
Daniel: Nice energy in that one, and I like the looseness.

First thing that came to mind was the old Street Fighter games. Spent more time on this than usual, but I'm still not entirely happy with how it turned out.

Sometimes the struggle isn't on the outside...

Medium: pencil on typing paper, with background enhanced and shading added in Photoshop
Size: 8.5" X 11" (original size - cropped for composition)

Drawing: ~1 hour
Photoshop: ~30 minutes
Total: ~1 hour, 30 minutes

Looking at it, this scene can actually have a few different interpretations, but they all come down to an internal struggle, rather than an external one.

I was originally just going to do some basic coloring (greyscale) with Photoshop, but I got carried away and ended up shading the characters as well... and I think it came out looking better for it. :)

The blonde girl is a ritch spoiled kid that is used to get whatever she whants. She laid her eyes on the brunettes adorably cute teddybear, and immediatly whanted it. The Brunette is poor, and that teddy means everything for her, so naturally she wont let Blonde thake him. Therefore they started to fight.

Photoshop + Wacom. Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes
Tried to go for a less realistic style this time :) I tryed putting pupils in theyr eyes, but that made them look less angry.
I whanted the brunette to seem a little more timid in ways of speaking

Marlon: Congratulations :D

The rules state "no tribute or plagiarizing"... but I often have ideas based on some other stuff (see my few previous sketches, most are avatar wars)... for instance this time I thought of Ripley vs the Alien Queen :)

The goal of the DSF is to practice regularly (bad lazy me :banghead:), but also to improve imagination, so what is considered 'plagiarizing' here?
