Hi guys,
I'm new to animation and have just started learning about it, so if this idea is already in use or has been tried and shown to be dreadful please forgive me :)
If, as a hypothetical, you were creating an animation of a character singing a song, and the song was recorded specially for the animation (ie the recording session was part of the process, not taken from a CD) - could markers be placed on the vocalist, and mocap data taken as he/she recorded the song. The mocap data could then be used to lip sync the CG character (you could then get full facial expression as the vocalist sings).
Is this a viable idea at all?
Thanks,
M
