Hi everybody,
I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here :) My name is Jeremy Bogdan, and I was pushed to check out what you all had here by a friend over at Ubi-Soft. Im 15 years old and currently living just outside Washington DC. For the past 2 years I was set on a goal in the Video Game industry, and sought to pursue a possible texturing career. In the past 2-3 months however my view has changed. I have always had a keen eye for films, being able to visualize what I make far before I write it down. Well I came here to better hone my skills and to meet great new people into CGI, maybe someone I can work on a 1 minute short with :)
I was planning on relying on Machinima techniques to film the different scenes of the film I had in mind, but the engine couldnt handle it. Im looking
to make a Halo CGI movie. I have music to use with voices and sound
fx included as it was taken from an upcoming trailer for The
Chronicles of Narnia. I have short bursts of animation planned already
to coincide with the music. I drew up a little basic plan timed with
the music which can be found here:
http://media.putfile.com/Narnia-Movie-Music-2-
0-4 Seconds- Open to shots opening and fading away as the drum beats,
of the Master Chief fighting small to large on the covenant scale
5 Second Mark- Cortana saying impossible
6-17 Second Mark- Master Chief killing his way up rocky hill (behind
of hill hidden to audience) through everything with the UNSC marines
18-19 Seconds- Behind hill shown to audience, hundreds of angry units
on screen ready for war; camera zooming out to uncover them into the
distance
20-21 Seconds- Zoom in shot to roaring Elite leader then pan to show
ready to fight troops
23-24 Seconds- Boom of drum (in music) symbolizing shot from the MC
kills the lead Elite with the sword being removed from sheath noise
played when the elite drops his carbine onto the rock
25-26.5 Seconds- Units become enraged (depicted by hitting their armor
with their weapons and getting ready to stampede)
27 Second Mark- Boom of drum symbolizing first shot from covenants;
you see the marines and MC looking out over the hill and a marine
falls
28-29 Seconds- Army charges, MC voice over screaming "No"
30-32 Seconds- Violent battle scenes with marines and front lines
brutes, grunts and elites scream in battle and in pain as one by one
each side falls
33-37 Seconds- Violent battle pans out through reflection in MC's Visor
38-41 Seconds- The MC has into battle showing black on the screen
because the visor shot was just zoomed into because of him running
42-44 Seconds- Roar of a Brute plays as you see him enraged with MCs
gun to his head as he's the last one standing
45 Second-1 Minute Mark- Credits
I can almost see a God of War Cut-scene styled animation with some pretty cool effects.
Anyway I just wanted to get some imput with timing and transitions and be able to meet new people :)
