so here is a litle darker pic of a secret lover... its not the girl but the guy who has the secret lover...

it took about 2h in ps... it started out well (the girl) but ended wors (the shadow of the guy)...I cant consentrate in more than an hour on a pic, but im trying to do things faster to make it possible for me to complet a pic befor I get bored of it.

(sorry for the english, but I have no energy left to try to do it right)

This ended up being too vertically squashed... the cliff really should be a lot more imposing. However, I didn't have time to redo the perspective and stay under the two hour Pledge limit. (I am not officially entering the pledge since I will be out of contact Thurs-Sunday); However, perhaps a pledge 1/4?

Zeitwolf - I like the colors and perspective twisting in this.

yAdam - this is the angle I was looking for. A very dramatic composition.

Augustus - Very nice shape and line, particularly for a 10 minute sketch, what brush were you using for the fill areas? Is that a marker of some sort, or a watercolor brush?

I'm not that happy with it even if it is a rough...did it way to small to do the thing any justice (this is painted size), but speed was an issue.

One of my friends told me that the female in the spotlight looks like a blow-up doll. I didn't intend that, but it makes the sketch a whole lot funnier.

Nice work everyone, unfortunately, I will be breaking my pledge on the first day. It seriously bums me out but when you have a 2 year old on the house, your time is often not your own and I just don't have the time today to do much of anything. OK here's mine, secret lovers and the world outside. :)

In all honesty took way longer because I couldn't get the guy right... I had a timer though, so concept was about ten, build up about30 or 40 minutes and the girl was finished quickly after. But then... the horror... Something that does ugly is ugly, and that didn't sit well in the image. :argh:

so eventually 3 hours and some such, heheh... (best viewed cold and with high contrast ;))

edit: AFter hearing some comments on contrast being low, my stupified brain realised I had been using exra high contrast settigs on my dandy diamondtron dual electron gun tube.
I now paint on my monitor's default low contrast settings and have adjusted the image to match as closely as I saw possible. I hope you're still taking a look. It's way better like this.
I did make some adjustments time should be four hours excluding the confusion on contrast.

I wanted to show with the ugliness of the secret lover, how his behavior disturbs the beauty of an other person.
The ugliness is not how the secret lover looks like but how this thing, called love, can affect a Persons world.

An agent who loves his secrets... literally. A "secret lover". ;)

Pencil on typing paper, colored in Photoshop with a mouse.

Drawing: ~25 minutes
Photoshop: ~20 minutes
Total: ~45 minutes

Getting used to mouse-painting in Photoshop... gave the paint a final boost from brightness/contrast at the end to complete the effect. Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the results.

This was actually one of the first concepts I had for any of the pledge sketches, and the next-to-last one I completed.

Completed on time, but posted late due to image prep.
