Hi everybody! This might be my 3rd thread on this forum, but eh..
Ok so, here is Gollum ex-aka "Smeagol", from The lord of the rings, the movie.
As we are in the WIP section, the image below is still a work in progress, so ears and most of the head aren't done yet, so is the mouth part.Anyway, C&C are most welcome to help me improving the base mesh.

My aim is to make it look like this one:

(official mesh, screenshot took from the 3rd DVD of the collector pack of The two towers). Am far from it, but getting closer and closer everyday lol.
Oh By the way, here are some not-that-gud wires, for u guys to see.

Hey man, thanks for commenting on my car thread. Your Gollum looks good, the only thing is these screenshots are kind of small and low-res so it's hard to see in good detail what’s going on but, from what I CAN see its looking like the real deal. Nice work.

You should host them on imageshack.us or something and then you can post the higher res version so people don't have to click.
gardogg; they're already posted on imageshack, he just used the thumbnails cus then slower users don't get pwned every time they open a topic ;)
It looks like you have the right track so far, but I would take a look at the LOTR mesh and the way it flows back into the skull, there's a very smooth flow from face to skull, maybe try and work on this above the ears and around the forehead of your own mesh ;)
Cheers!

here are my humble suggestions
http://www.rit.edu/~jsd0377/gollum1.jpg
http://www.rit.edu/~jsd0377/gollumRef1.jpg
so in the first image above i drew in some suggestions for slight modifications to the mesh, spots that may need more or different topology, and areas that i thought were important to watch out for. in the second image i used the reference you got and highlighted areas of importance.
basically, your gollum is off to a good start, but looks too much like a generic human head. the most important part of understanding the topology and edge loops, etc. of gollum is to look at the movie and see how he scrunches and distorts his face, how his head slopes, and to make note of different angles and sizes of features that stand out on him and are distinctly gollum. finding those key attributes will tell you what is not right about your model. looking at weta's mesh will only tell you so much. to understand why it was built the way it was, you need to study how he was animated in the movie, as well as how andy's face (the guy who did the voice and motion capture) because they used his face as reference. that way your model will FEEL like gollum, which is the most important thing.
anyway, good start, keep it up!

it will be easier to figure out the difference if u will post an image with the same angle,
from this angle it looks like the skull is not that flat on top, also u require subtle changes in the mouth area

hey!
thank u for answering :)
Yep i used thumbnails because i was scared that if i posted big pictures, either this post 'd be deleted, or nobody wud come n c lol.
anyway, thanks for critics, particularely the one from johweedee: I'll tweak up my wire acording to your advices.
then i'll post a pic from the same angle
