I always thought Kate was better in this film than in Van Helsing.

With the exception that it requires Flash Player 8

And that breaks Adblocker with Firefox

Yes there is a "workaround", but STOP OPENING FULL SCREEN WINDOWS !

dude?! whats with all the me me me...? it doesnt even open the window in fullscreen mode?! i thought after all that it would be somthing very forceful, but its just a browser window? resize it to whatever u like!

when ur going to a website for a movie to watch the trailers and stuff, id be damned if they let u see it in a 200x200 window. isnt that a complete waste of all their hardwork?

Errr... I just get a picture of Kate some snow and sound? I guess there's supposed to be something to click?

edit:
Forget it, this time I didn't leave the room waiting for it to load and miss the clips and story building up!!! :banghead:

It uses the new blend modes and gaussian blurs thats now in-built in Flash (no need to go to Photoshop for that) Check the snow for instance, some layers got blur over it.

The video that plays uses some additive blend mode.

And thats all I could notice...also, the flash player now updates from within flash itself.

I think better websites will come to show off the new flash.

You can also see that they are using the alpha channels in the quicktime movies which is pretty cool once you understand that the entire teaser was made in flash. What it means is that you can now do some stuff that you'd have to do in Photoshop or After Effects all in Flash now. For Flash artists, this is going to be a really cool release.

this is awesome! no annoying flash banners, and my browser doesnt badger me to install a plugin!

so far i think the web without flash is a pretty nice place.

If so, there's a setting in addblocker you need to adjust (just dont rember what setting)

-bitmap caching looks promising [can make anything created in Flash cache like a bitmap, increases speed of animation].
-video looks great in Flash 8. i've been reading its easier to import and stream for novice users.
-blending modes - just like in Photoshop, you can blend two images over each other in different ways.
-forgot what its called, but they have a "UVW" skin type of tool were you can move a texture around and it will update on the objects its on.
-easy mode is back in actionscript [good for new beginners]

Flash 8 looks to be killer.

Flash is much better than what people think. The main reason is probably that there are so many bad sites out there. Good looking but still often pretty bad.

Does people know for example that you can make Flash sites that are MUCH faster than normal html sites to download? ....Didn't think so. :)

You can also do quite advanced games with it and graphic applications. It's very easy to create complex relationships that work perfect for games.

It's possibly the most friendly environment I have programmed in so far. I mean you have:
- graphic tool
- animation tool
- layout tool for creating say game maps, characters. You can use something like puzzle pieces that react intelligently etc.

There are a few strong problems with it.
- speed. It's so slow so I cry. It was practically impossible to create rain for example since it's so slow for moving objects.
- no caching. You cannot cache graphics, arrgggg. They ahve to download all the graphic every time. It's just insane.
- For normal webpage use there are many problems, scrolling, selecting text etc aren't as good as they should be.

So if people work smarter they can do very useful sites with it.
