Dead Forest Pandemonium: the Sentence of the Last Flower.

“When all was over, home came Winter- every branch, bough, trunk and root perished under the cruelty of the overwhelming snow. Except one…it survived even the snow’s cruelty and the fury of the blizzard. This one still shone bright with imprisoned colors even if lost in the middle of all the blinding whiteness. It was alone in a world of dead and dying trees- a lovely flower amongst snappy twigs.

Home came winter…

She bears razor sharp scissors in her hand. She holds within her existence the cruel coldness, the dying hope, broken dreams; a bleeding heart and death incarnate. She is the inevitable result, a nightmare woven by those who learn how to surrender.

It who shone bright and survived beyond all endings resolves to bow down showing submission. Its passion still persists… still retains some heat of life. A drop of water formed from frozen morning dew runs down its shape. In its path down the droplet gathers all the forgotten memories. The final moment comes near, but the seeds are immature. In this new ending the one realizes that it is the last of its kind. Her presence is felt.

“So where shall I cut?”- the lady asks.

Home came Winter….”

I made this piece as part of a series called The Heartbreak Symphony that started with The Repression of Frustrations: of How I Learned to Sing in Silence. It is a metaphor for human relationship dynamics- pertaining especially to love & pain (and other emotions). Inspiration was taken from events that have occurred to me during this year.

Oh wow, you finished it. You did a wonderful job.
I like the story behind it too. It's very 'wintery'.
No crits.

A beautiful painting of pain and sadness, so sorry you've had to suffer the "stings of winter" but we all do at one time or another. Pain can be a tremendous catalyst for creativity, it's good that you found a constructive way to deal with it. The forest is very lovely and the design of her dress is unique.

The color of the piece is very impressive, and the composition of the woman is resonable.
I like the fashion of the woman. Also, i think the branch in front of woman can be showed more big for expressing the space feeling.! All in all, it is a great job! Excellent!!

-Brittany-: Thank you! It's more like the story after ;)

Euphrosyne: I'm very grateful for you comments! And you hit the nail on the head, this is a way to cut down on the pain. :)

Purehay: THANKS! the fashion was the hardest part, but also it was the most delightful to do.

blz: Thanks you! Well, yeah, working without photorefs can be harder... and some little things here and there sprout, but I like it better that way!!! ;D

dunkegold: thankies!

agree on the colourblend, nicely done!
Think that this picture would have a higher rating if people had a closer look at the closeups, lovely colours!

Really beautifully captured. Great palette to create the right mood.

I was going to comment that I would love to see a bigger version but you already did anyway :)

enialadam: Thank you!!!

lukrm: Thanks you! I don't have much digital work since I am just starting out on this and have been semi-active only this year. But you could go to my DA page (go to my profile here and follow the link). The rest are traditional works which I haven't uploaded because I don't have a camera and they are too big to scan.

Alice: it's ok ^_^ rating doesn't matter- it is special to me because it means a lot of things and helped me heal further. Thank you very much!!!

Kyena: Oh, thank you! (you should see the prints; the 8 x 10 is exhibiting in a gallery and I have kept the 16 x 20 to myself! I had never printed before; and I thought they would look odd, but they look even better than on the monitor :P)

jmvcbg: Thanks!

sh@ke: Yes!!! and quite fast too... I could keep working on it, but I already sold a copy... so now I can't. Thank you!!!
