View Full Version : Non-linear workflow using Messiah?

Hello,

This one is for all who use Messiah and Cinema 4D. Is the workflow in Messiah non-linear? For example... let's say I build a character, in Messiah I rig him (all out rigged, weighted, etc.) and then for some crazy reason I need to add something to my model (let's say a tail) or I need to delete something (again we'll use a tail) and the bones that affected it... will this cause major problems? Will I have to re-rig and re-weight from scratch?

Thanks!
Leo

Hey Leo,

I've never thought of it as non-linear before, but you can change the rigging of your character at any time, even in the middle of the animation. Not only does it not cause problems, messiah will keep the animation you've already done and modify it in real time to account for the changes. I've never added or subtracted bones like you're suggesting, but I don't think it would be a problem.

Thanks for the insight :) Sounds like a powerful animation solution. I wish I could test it out, but unfortunatly I'm using a demo version of Messiah and I can't use point-oven :(

Although, I don't know how else to *test* the Messiah-->C4D workflow since the direct connection between these apps is poor (C4D crashes 24/7).

also on the messiah forum there are some helpful guys who might be able to help point you in the right direction...just a thought all very cool and i know some of them use c4d eg tony and some others.
