View Full Version : Bp Dvd?
V_Shane 08-18-2005, 08:48 PM I read around on the forums there is a second party DVD tut for BP, I have done searches and can't find anything on google. Just 3DKiwi from C4D Cafe talking about his tuts. Is that one in the same thing? If so, is there a link I can go to, to buy it?

I think Kurv Studios released one, at http://www.kurvstudios.com/, their navigation dont work in Opera so I'm not 100% sure.

Well I got it when it was on it's pre-order offer price of $39, so it was a bargain as far as I am concerned! ;) - even so, if the $80 product makes your (much more expensive) BP2 useable all of a sudden, then it is surely worth it!?
How deeply does Vital go into UVmapping?
I do know how to use brush tool and that part doesnt interest me at the moment.
I'm more interested in once in a lifetime to get a decent UVmap which I can paint on.
Are there any free pieces that deal with mapping in general with BP?

Deep enough I think - they cover both use of the Wizard, interactive mapping, and some nifty manual rearranging of the UVs - I can't see what else you'd need to know after this DVD personally.

2nd the notion. UVmapping is a major portion of the dvd and it is well explained. Very easy to follow and any confusion you had about uvmapping will be cleared up. I'm hoping they release a sequel to this dvd. Maybe, "Advanced insider secrets to BP"

Re my BP DVD. It's a few weeks away. I've been having computer problems the last couple of weeks so bitten the bullet today and just done a clean install.
Mine comes on a data DVD and is around 12 hours long. Price $49.95 US plus some p&p.
Here's a link to the details from about a month ago along with a 12 minute sample. I'm close to being finished the final project. Hope to get it done over the next week now that I've got rid of all the spyware and several years of accumulated junk off my PC.

and an image of where I'm up to with the Spitfire.

Well a budget is a budget and I cut corners where I can at the suggestions of my accountant(wife). I jsut spent $1500 on a new computer.
Ebay: damn, missed it.
Kiwi: Looks excellent, you pointed out "user is probably conversant with C4D", but I don't plan on getting C4D just BP, will that hinder the training?

By conversant I mean familiar with navigating around the program. You should be able to follow along pretty well although I do go into C4D a few times to do a couple of things. i don't think this will have a serious impact upon those with just the stand alone version. There's a new section not mention in the list that is entirely in C4D where I prepare the Spitfire model for painting. i.e. I fix up a few errors. The DVD will include the Spitfire ready to UV edit or paint.
What I don't cover is exporting using with other 3D programs and the models are all C4D based.
