I have a problem. So far CS2 has been running great except that the files that I create a client cannot use because they are running PS 6 (yes I know - old). Does anyone know how to save down to that format??

if you tried to open PS6 files CS, and does not open it.
try to convert your text to vector shapes so you can resize it there easily.
then go and open it in CS

That isn't what I meant -

I am referring to the fact that other individuals (who use PS 6) cannot read my files - which are CS2. I don't think it is a text issue. I think it is just compatability between versions.

Ordinarily when I save as PSD in CS2, a dialogue pops up asking if I want to maximize compatibility for older versions of Photoshop. I think you can turn on the setting in Preferences.

In the worst case would a layered tiff (or is it targa) help ?

I've had this trouble too with people being reluctant to update their software. What I have found is that if you are trying to save a PSD down to 6 from CS, you have to make sure that there are no effects, type, layer groups or colour swatches etc that the old Photoshop won't recognise... For example, if you have created a file in CS with a layer containing a "Linear Dodge" layer effect, PS 6 won't be able to read it. If you rasterize everything and don't leave anything "new" in it (effects, smart objects, vectors etc) and save it as a PSD, it should be compatible. It worked for me anyhow...!

Hope this helps...
