Hi,

Ok, before I get hammered on my question, I received the discovery edition about 5 minutes ago and I am just eager to render a scene to see what it is capable of from some of the demo scenes.

So my question is, where do I set the output resoltution???

Thanks All!

Lol, cool, it wasn't in the most obvious place as I initially suspected.

Cheers mate

Hi,

And at the risk of getting completely hammered and RTFM, how do you save a rendered image?

Thanks

You can set it to save automatically in render options or you can render (F9 windows or cmnd-F9 mac) and save from the file button which appears top left of the render when it's complete. It'll make sense when you try it!

Oh and RTFM! lol!

Nah it's OK, I'm new to LW too :o)

I have just come over from C4D, I love C4D but module pricing, constant upgrading is taking it's toll and I like the look of the LW renders, really really thinking of taking up the LW 9 & Vue 5 offer, that is a great offer. I was going to buy Vue 5 anyway so it is a bonus really.

Must be a demo limitation, don't get any button appear after render but managed to set it in render options.

Do get a checkerboard all over the render though.

As far as I know, the only limitation of LW's Demo is that it doesnt allow you to save scenes and puts a watermark on rendered images (not sure of the second one). Make sure that "Image Viewer" is set under "Render Display" in the "Render Options"

Hi,

I can save scenes as long as points in objects are below 400(or something like that)

Yeah, it is the watermark checker board.

LOL! Exact same story here! I'm using Discovery edition 7.5 here and there are a few limitations, you can't save scenes (from layout .lws) but you can save objects (.lwo) provided they don't have more than 400 points per layer. Renders are heavily watermarked with that checkerboard pattern (hey whaddya want fer nuthin'?) some of the features seem to be disabled too, I can't get vertex painting to work for instance. It's great for getting a feel for the app though. - Baz
