Hey, I started this project a few days ago and this is what i have done so far. Its a samurai with an army behind him (at this moment the army consists of only circles for heads :D)
Im having trouble with colouring the samurai. Its too soft and blurry. I dont know how to really bring him out, make him look sharp. I thought that it mite be cos of all the shadows and that lightening him mite work, but it only made him look tacky - and i did want to make him dark and moody.
Any advice would be appreciated :). Thx.

PS: any advice or tutorials on how to texture the armour would help so much.

well you can keep the strongest light flowing onto his armor and still have it look dark and moody, if its and early morning sun light before the sun is up, or from a nearby torch or whatever. it would allso give more life to his face if you light up his cheeks and if the wiever could see just a hint of glence-glare from his eyes.

I have a few ideas for you, you could make his bodyarmor somehow follow the contours of a male with defined muscles, instead of just round bands all the way down of his torso,
aalso i think it looks strange that his shoulderpads are not on top of his arms armor.. its like the bracers are too long away from where they should be if you understand :)
