View Full Version : colors looked washed out on other monitors!
Demeye 08-16-2005, 06:49 PM hi i recently post an image up.... http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=265410 (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=265410) ........and when i viewed it at my friends house the color looked washed out and was just horrible. i viewed it again on another computer and this time it was washed out and had a dirty brown tint to it. AHHHH what a nightmare! i do my work on a hp pavilion laptop with a nvidia GeForce FX go5600 video card...my photoshop color setting is set to (north america general purpose defaults) RGB: sRGB IEC619966-2.1 ..... can anyone shed some light into this matter.

It does look a little washed out here also... Id check the digital vibrance control for your 5600. If set to anything other then 'off' it adds a false sense of color to your screen which might be causing you to see more color then there actually is while painting.
On my screen (calibrated), you image has a slight watercolor feel. Your darkest value is 6 and brightest value is around 63, certainly not that vibrant. You can verify that against your screen.

thanks allot you guys ...took ya advice and played with my gama a bit which was really a pain. i think i fixed it =)
