Job Description:
Performs a variety of Perl, Python scripts and system administration on Linux servers and workstations for the purpose of visual effects for movie productions. Troubleshoot script problems in a live environment under pressure of clients. The perfect candidate will also have a good working knowledge of Linux, and be able to work alone. Must have worked in a team environment. The candidate should have experience of client facing with a good attitude and be highly self motivated. Under general supervision they will be expected to install, configure and maintan computer workstations and servers to meet production planning. They will provide direct second level Linux support to end users.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Required Skills:
Must be able to demonstrate at least one year of knowledge/ experience in a large working environment with Linux/ Unix servers. In-depth programming knowledge, preferably Perl/ Python and Linux/ Unix. Very good communication skills are highly desirable for this role due to direct contact with production users.
Desired Skills:
Good knowledge of Flexlm license server, Renderman, Maya, Shake as well as Redhat Certification will be a plus.
