hmmm, I wouldn't know why you're not getting the pallette... but I can say that that video quality isn't normal.

I think you need to get the right codec before playing them. I get much better quality than that.
try installing nimo codec pack or defilerpak. I have both of those and I can play most video's.

I think the video is old, now the pallette shows up if you click on the other tabs above the input boxes for the motion, rotation and scale ("rest" tab). The other one is named "skeleton" and after you add a bone a "bone" tab will show up as well. This goes for the whole interface, if you have a lot of tabs, a small button that looks like fastforward on a casette player lets you reveal the tabs that a hidden.

I still think you should look at the mini tutorials in the manual, there half animated with moving gifs and some complementing texts.

The video is still accurate. I had the display set to blocks instead of tabs, and the blocks were set to Auto Fit and Select Fit. I HIGHLY recommend that you read through the "Learn It Once" pages. Virtually everything you've asked so far is in those few pages.

As for the quality of the videos, they look fine. Are you viewing through Windows Media Player? And do you have it set for 100% image size? (I don't mean maximized to full screen, I mean the 100% setting.) Also what bit depth are you running at?
