Hey everone!!! I just started learning maya a few weeks ago and I am falling in love with it!!But just started animating 3 days ago. So this is my first walk cycle I have ever done , I tried to animate a bull dog I made before in 3d studio but that didnt turn out good at all. But anyways this is my walk cycle but also he is about to lift up an object. I thought I would just put the two practices together , it isn't totally complete yet so I wanted to post it here and get some info from you guys on what I should do and what I can change! All crits are welcome
P.S- I did not make this model or rig. It is package man from rigging 101!

I like it so far. I think it could use more overlapping action. For instance, from the hips to the head, his movement appears really stiff. Loosen that up, have the hips rotating/translating first, the torso next, and last the head. I see the hips rotating forward, are they also rotating up (and the up and forward can also be off-set to overlap each other)? And finally, with the hips and the feet. It seems that the hips are rotated the furthest forward, at the same time when the feet are most far apart -- you might also off-set that as well -- have the hips move forward just a little faster than feet.

Hey thanks a lot! I will start adding that motion to the character now! I thought he was looking stiff myself , but the only thing I dont like is how when i move his cog and upper body , the arms will move to and put them out of place from where I want them. I don't really know maya yet, just did some basic modeling for a week and then got into animating. Thanks for the crit and keep them coming everyone:)

well. where to start.
1. he is taking to many steps to get to the box 2 or even 3 step's with be in off.
2. hi has no wait.
3.his body is to stiff. best why to think of a human or a person as jelloo where flexibal and a lot of drag.
4.he has no purpose to his objective. needs a bit more acting. You should thing how the 5w's, 1.Who 2.what 3.where 4.why. 5.how. Ok 4 w;s and a 1H

but good luck with the animation dude:thumbsup:

Hey thanks for the crit baka , you pointed out a lot to me which is great , since I just started animating a few days ago these points will really help me out!! and I agree with all of them , yeah I didn't put any "where" and "why" just because it was my first go at animating so i was just like "ok , im going to make this guy walk" then "ok maybe I will make him pick up something"
i will start fixing all that stuff tonight , and thanks again!!!
And yes I will have to try and fix this so it can be viewed in firefox etc , sorry guys!

Matt
