Just wonder how you, Lightwavers, set up your layout interface when rigging a character. I give rapidly mine. For your information I do not rig in modeler but in layout.

A Quad view Right/Back/Perspective/Schematic + the object properties/motion options/display option pannel. I sometimes load the scene editor to mass modify parameters. If LW had the same spreadsheet as XSI or Max (I mean replacing any viewport by the spreadsheet), I would remove one of the orthographic views to use this solely.

Sometimes I also build a slider which lowers / raises the opacity of all the surfaces for better placement of bones instead of switching from back to front or left to right.

Because ALL my rigs based on heavy usage of weight maps i still use LW 7.5 ...
1. The main interface for WMaps is Vertex Paint.

2. The main interface for the rig process is LW 7.5 Layout.

3. Schematic view is the best for parenting , navigating.
4. "Parent in Place" button with tub shortcut is really help to place nulls on place and u can see if PIP is ON or OFF.
That's it :)

schematic view is a good start but, OMG when you create a bone or copy any hierarchy, what a PITA to rearrange everything and go very down in the viewport to find the last bone created :(

I have just found (I am too lazy) that there is a button in the display option that prevents you from dragging all children when you move a parent bone... Imagine my pain till I found this :(

Well as i said before i use weight maps with scelegons so i have only ones deal with arranging bones in schematic view ...
Anyway there there is some good plug from Paz Schema that can save and load schematic positions of any items.
Also u can use Display/Schematic Tools (in LW 7.5 scheme interface) / Tree view to quick rearrange schematic positions.
Unfortunately Newtek don't make schematic view more powerful - instead of only arrange, parent , rename and color. I would like to see some quick goal and target management - imagine something like ctrl+shift click on bone (with null selected ) make quick IK goal assignment or target ...
Also there is some really strange bug that appear with 7.5 and exist till now - if u have make load from scene (like add character to scene) with schematic arranged - u completely lost all arrangements! It's was working in 7.0! The only way to keep schematic view arranged is to use D-Storm's Load from Scene Plus ...
