hey guys,
i am still quite a newbie in max, mostly because my job beeing a doctor keeps me very busy. anyway, i'd like to find an easy method to simulate basic surgical operations in 3ds max. is that possible at all? here's what i can achieve so far: basic modelling of organs, texturing, modelling of instruments (the metal surface looks better by now - it's an older picture). i don't like to play around with reactor in this case, unless you think that it's absolutly necessary.
to come to the point: what would you say would be the best method to cut this piece of ligament that goes from the uterus to the inside of the pelvis? (the thing that hangs below the right instrument in the picture)
the result has to be a cut in the ligament that i can pull up (using meshselect and xform for example) and continue cutting down towards the bottom of the uterus. it is necessary that in the animation the cutted area has to result in a closed mesh, no open faces (there's a meshsmooth modifier on top of the model).
please forgive my bad english skills,
thank you very much in advance!
