Hey guys,

I was trying to paint weights in 6.5 and it just was not working. So I was looking around and I found a post about 6.5 having a bug and that painting weights is not I good idea in 6.5. It also said to go back to 6.0 and everything will work fine.

So now this is where my question comes in... How do I get my character and the rig into 6.0 from 6.5. I really don't want to have to rebuild the rig.

Here is the original thread I read on this subject.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know

try saving your scene as *.ma then open it with an word editor and change the 6.5 in the header to 6.0... should work... unless you used any feature that is new to 6.5...

Great Wigal, that got it opened up in 6.0. Thanks a ton. But that still cheezes me off that 6.5 don't work with painting weights. you would think after all this time you would have something so crucial as that fixed or not even that... properly done. I have been a XSI user for years and if it wasn't for work I would have never changed cause I have been running into little problems like these all the time, don't get me wrong Maya is a amazing program and they are great for other areas of cg but in my opinion XSI has always been ahead in my feild of modeling and animation.
But anyways, I have had my little rant for the day... hahahaha... Thanks again for everything Wigal and hopefully everything will go smooth from here.

Cheers

Boo
