View Full Version : Q: How to achieve bloom/glimmer effect
fr3drik 08-14-2005, 02:13 PM Ususally, I try to do glow effects and such in post, but how can I make speculars bloom and water glimmer with nice results, using Shake?
This is what I'm trying to achieve:

luma key, blur it, feed it into a brightness on the original image.

yeah what beaker said. Also adding the resulting keyed area with a mult of a preferred colour to give it a coloured halo around the bloom !

Split the layer, Blur/Defocus + IAdd might do it.

Some newbie help please ;). I have managed to luma key and blur. Now how exactly do I feed it into the brightens? I have tried various flavors of Copy, ColourSpace, Reorder etc but can not find something that works.

ah ha. just discovered. Fed the result into mask of an attached brightness node. To quote Homer Simpson: Doe!

Yup. or you could use something from the layer nodes to do the same thing (iadd would have been my suggestion).
