Title: Sleeping Siren
Name: Darren Yeow
Country: Australia
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Hey guys, I decided to do a piece over the weekend to get used to Corel Painter 9. This is my first real attempt at a piece with Painter, as I had never really felt comfortable with the program.

Did this as a tribute to Giger who was one of my early influences.

No references, about 4 hours work.

Main brushes I used were the water rake, the round oil camelhair, the details camelhair, fine camelhair and the impasto lofter and eraser brushes.

I then brought it into photoshop to do some minor leve adjustment an to dirty up the image a little with the canvas texture. I kep the main details on the face as I had limit time.

Hope you enjoy it.

I think Giger would give you a pat on the back for work well done  I hope you're starting to like Painter more after doing this piece. All I can say about Painter is that in my opinion it's simply the best digital art app. on the market. You'll truly be amazed by what you can achieve once you start playing around with the brushes, and you'll esspecialy enjoy yourself once you start creating your own custom brushes. Try out the palette knife in the artist oils section for blending if you have'nt yet. 5 stars on the pic http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif
