View Full Version : render eyes go black

I'm using max 7 with "pixar eyes" - concave pupils, mental ray, sss skin and final gather.
When I render the scanline render my eyes turn out fine, but when I use mental ray the eyes become black.. Has anyone experienced this problem, or know of a way fix it? thanks alot.

A first guess would be to check your trace depths - in render globals, your shaders, and your lights, you have limits on how many reflection, refraction, and shadow steps you take when raytracing.
