just wondering if there is a way to make certian colors invisible... okay am using uv mapper to make a texture and i have two colors; the black wire frame and the white inbetween them.. how can i make white transparent so that i can use the black wireframe layer to be on top of a seperate layer that i am going to be painting on. i wanna use the wireframe to stay inside the lines..

i dont know if this is a decent method, but i figured that i would ask.

thanks

One way is to use the Magic Wand tool and select all the white areas, and then delete them. Make sure you uncheck "Contiguous" (this way, all white areas will be selected, regardless of whether they're completely bounded by black).

Make sense?

Make the image from UVMapper a layer and drag it to the top of the other layers and change the blending mode to Multiply. If you want to turn the wireframe outline to white, just invert it and change the blending mode to screen, am i good or am i good?

In this case what you're looking for, as Amoeba already said, are Multiply and Screen blending options. Multiply takes white as 100% transparent and black as 100% opaque and screen the other way around.

You could, however, also use the 'Layer effects' -> 'Blending options' panel. Set the 'Blend if' color to the channel you want to be invisible (grey, red, green, blue) and adjust the settings for each channel by moving the control arrows (alt + click and move the arrows to change halftones).
