View Full Version : Updated Ladybug Animation

Hello....I was going to append this to my old ladybug thread...but then I figured that since this can pretty much stand on its own, it would be better to start afresh :)

Anyways, over the past 2 days I've been working on shot 2 of the ladybug fall animation. Special thanks to Danny Robashkin once again for helping me with some compositing stuff! Although this shot almost sets up the ladybug scene for a whole storyline or whatever, this is the last time I'll be going back to the ladybug at this point.

3dsmax 7 and the standard scanline renderer as usual.

*Also please note that the beginning of the original animation (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=260548&highlight=ladybug) (where the ladybug climbs the leaf) has been chopped off for this shot, to maintain a maximum 5-second clip duration. This clip was specifically created for a relatively fast-paced FX reel, so that's why we're going for maximum efficiency when it comes to shot duration :D

hey ivan,

can u plz tell me how u did composition? i mean did u model those trees? it;s looking gr8. i like it.

but animation looks to dark 2 me.i can;t see much.but when bug falls down then there i can see the scene prperly.

but still it looks gr8.

PS:: ur old ladybug animation looks much better than this.coz in ur old animation i can see the whole scene properly.there was no dark in the animation.this animation looks too dark.

The new job is going great! I love it here at MAKE.

As for the darkness....it's definitely a problem with the brightness/contrast of your monitor if it's too dark. This clip was color-corrected on both a properly calibrated monitor and tv-screen so the brightness/contrast of the actual clip should be fine :)
