Sorry if this was already posted
Here-s my problem: I just upgraded from win nt /Max 3 to win2k /Max 4.
My system is a Athlon 1300@1400Mhz, geforce2GTS (emulated to quadro 2pro with softquadro and Maxtreme Drivers from Elsa).
The problem is in Max4 I have a very low frame rate in viewport, shaded or wireframe even if I have an object that has arround
50-60.000 faces.
The only thing I found that's solves the problem is applying a edit mesh modifier over the object (then the speed increse by far and I can manipulate with a good fps objects that have up to 400.000 faces).
I think the problem is that max4 see all the objects like poly not faced objects and I don't think by board hardware accelerate this...execpt the time I'm using mesh edit...but is irritating doing this every time...
Beleve me...it's very annoying seeing an object with 50.000 faces in max4 having the same performance in viewport like an object with 300.000 faces in max3.
I'll appreciate any sugestions , thanks.
