Hello again folks!

My second thread started tonite (I've been ill today, no work, lots of modelling :) )

Well...

For the first time I've been trying to model a portrait. And I've got to say... I havn't succeded very good. Maybe you could give me some help?

what's realy dragin' this down is the pasted on hair on top of the head...try modelling it if you don't have a hair plugin.

oh yea! are places in sweden really expensive? It looks like your computer room and your bathroom are one in the same. Not to bust on you or anything, it just seemed odd to me.

What about shooting a picture of the subject without those glasses on? Or did you want the intense stoney refraction look?

Also the hair on the ears reduces the effectiveness of that map.

How about showing a side view of the model AND your wireframe.

You might want to bail all textures and just work on shaping a volume in grey - or is this for the web?

What you can do is draw some points in the face before taking the photos, then load those photos in the backdrop of your modeling program... and now you have volume references, just match the points from one view to the other and that's it:p

okey lets see..

This is a friend i have never seen irl since he is on the other side of the atlantic. so this is not in sweden :) not even my rooms

His mother took these photos... I asked him to take the glasses off but he didnt want to take new pictures... same with the spots.

about the hair and beard. I included them in the map because it is much easier to see if it resembles him if my render and his face has the same amount of hair in their faces. Same thing about the spots.

i will model the hair later... i dont like to work with shag:hair... cant make it look the way i want to... maybe i just need some practice. The beard i think look good enough to use...

Ill draw the other maps for his face by hand as i usually do...

I did have the maps as viewport backgrounds in max when i modelled.

maybe ill wastebasket all of this... gettin sick of it anyway... but that would be givin up... and that is never good... ill never learn that way.

Dont judge my skill on this project... check my other threads for better.
