minor crit...he looks a little of balance in the last render

wow, really nice character ila. alot of character in the character!
a couple of crits,
1. the hand texture looks weird. it looks like glows, yet not. it's a to abrubt ending on it at the wrist imo. maybe fade it out as you did on the stomach?
2. the ear texture, the black of it is in the center of the ear right now. maybe put the black in the "earhole" and then fade it out from there instead of the middle. hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
oh, and a little more highlights in the eyes will be very nice I think. right now they are a bit to black. at least in this scene.
anyway, it's a very good character, _very_ cute!
take care

best
then i think he need some stuff to play with!

hey Anders my favorite Viking! :) thanx for comments...
ok, about the ears you are absolutley right!, also about the wrist
it should be faded ( i was lazy, sorry!)
& about the eyes, i will try some specular reflection on them, though i like them black!
i tried fur on the body, it was DISAPPOINTING!
best regards

sure :)
if you look at the image (hope you dont mind me drawing on your render ;) ) ..
the blue line is your mouses center of gravity, but at the moment the mouse is following the red line.. his body is not in the center if his feet and it makes him look as if he is about to fall backwards...
the pose could be easley fixed by moving his left leg back a bit..
like i said though...its pretty monor, it might just be me noticing problems that arnt realy problems..
hope it helps

Mushroogod--> i don't agree with you, the mouse is still on balance, coz you showed it yourself, the vertical of gravitation is still inside the foot's distance. He's a bit leaned on a feet, but it's still ok.

Hi Ila, good to see you back. Somehow I missed Ilooshka's WIP thread.
Looks really nice, great character design and very clean modeling.
yeah, he may look a bit off balance in the last render, I agree with mushroomgod. I think you should exaggerate the glow in his eyes, and I would also have made them more rounded. That's just an idea.
You know you have to animate this...
Don't forget to tell me when your mouse learns to move!
See you later

haha! hi Andres, good to see you again too.
btw i think DimSum is right! ;)
well, forget about that cause now i'm rigging the character for animating.
(for me, the rigging for posing is different from animation rig.)

Cool Mouse...yes please please animate him (unless you are a modeler only). My only crit is that his eyes are "too" shiny. Your call in the long run though.....looks like fun to me. :D

Hello again,
I wanted to know if u planned to animate the whikers. Maybe your expressions would gain more 'intensity' when the moustaches 'follow' the eyes expressions e.g
Good work anyway !
ilasolomon
12-10-2002, 04:36 PM
yes Andres, but I try to remember what you said & correct that walk cycle & post again.
Kananga, thank you very much :)
DimSum, yes of course it should be like that, thank you anyway!

Argh! Its the eyes... something about them that bugs me! I think its cuz they're not so obvious at a quick glance... Also the teach should be more glossy, methinks, like china, as they're hard to make out/identify amongst the rest of the head and upper chest.

hi,
first of all a compliment, like it really much
have you ever thought about animating the ears ?
maybe you could exxagerate the facial expressions by that
when it looks "angry" the ears could turn around, point backwards and lay down on the head, like cats ears do
just something that came up to me when i saw it first
:)
ok, hope nobody said that before
nice work, great job
