Hi there

I am really impressed by the overall composition (awesome!)

Having said that... i would personally improve the metal shader to

something more realistic (additionally perhaps rust & dirt)...that's only me using my artistic licence.

Keep up the good work...it's a kick arse one!

Kind Regards

hauke

Cool!

From the robot design to the composition to the overall execution, this is a very very good piece of work. The only thing I do not like is the intel label. It sticks out too much from the rest of the reflective torso and thus the viewer pays too much attention to it. Though that is just a minor complain...

nice robot design... i think the floor might look a little `too` simple, but its just a small thing that you wouldnt really notice... the `car paint` metallic surface is great !

i think you would need more than a P4 to run that thing ! agreed - take it off it looks stupid.

I did not expect at all, that I shall receive so high estimations.
Completely agree with criticism, I shall try to correct defects. :)

And actually why Xeon, instead of G5 for example?
I attached that emblem? that was at hand .
А собственно почему Xeon, а не G5 к примеру?
На самом деле, что первое под руку попало то и прилепил. :)

Very nice render. I like the characters personality a lot. What made you feel the need to de-personalize your work by slapping a well known corporate logo on the front? Can't agree with those who say it's 'cool' or hilarious'. The image would look ten times better without the logo, or maybe create a fantastical corporation where the robot was created, yourself.

Btw. Robots was created by Blue Sky, not Disney.

I've been keeping my eye on this site for some time now and this image is bar none the most attractive thing I've seen to date. Perfect render, simple expression. Almost tells an entire story just with the pose the character is put in.

Absolutely flawless. If I had made this I would be one proud puppy.

Best thing I've seen on this site. Easy.

Excellent picture. I love your choice of the environment. I also agree that the metal material could be better... although I`m doubtful if so young person should have a rusty shader ;)

But I`m also shocked with the dramatic message of this pic. That poor boy found a corpse! :P

Congrats. Nice to see so good work.

looks like the intel logo is casting final gather rays and lighting the scene. might wanna try turning off all lighting and rendering it to see if just the intel logo shows up. i think that would be why it stands out. however its fixable.
as for everyone saying it looks stupid there, thats because they are all fools :P "oh no, intel sucks and is a big corporation that shouldnt be there" yeh whatever, go back to the island of people who care.

and to the guy who said he should use more complex curves...what the hell? oh a model is only good when its really complex? have you even seen the movie robots? are you telling me that those people dont know how to model? man they werent the most complex models...

> its rendered in MR?
It is standard Maya renderer, from MR used only "occlusion" shader

to Britflix
> how did you match it all up so well ,did you use hdri?
HDRI was not used, there were only three light sources and occlusion was used.

There's nothing to crit but my crazy opinion is that the robot could perhaps try to touch something organic... You know, on the ground, there'd be butterfly or what and he'd want to touch it cuz he's still "a machine" and he wanna have feels...
...but I'm crazy so forget that and keep making such beatiful things...

At first I thought you placed here your own robot model, but seems it’s not true and all you want to do is to show everyone that I stole design.
It is unclear where did you find similarity and why try to accuse me in plagiarism.
For instance apes pretty similar, but divided but lots’ of kinds.
So the question is: what for are you doing that?

Dark_ki_Flame

Martins, fly, catch bugs, may be it’s for a rain, don’t know.
When was working was looking into a window where were lots of martins. :)

Great Bot. Just one tiny thing that annoys me a little:

If you look twice it appears that you took a photography for the background. But thats quite unimportant.

Respect, great image.

This is why I love CGTalk, CGSociety, (or whataever they are calling themselves these days) being constantly exposed to work like this on a daily bases. It's just tickles the aesthetic side of the brain. I find myself constantly smiling while surfing this sight. I saw this piece in a crowded room, so everyone thought I was really wierd (huge smile on my face) or download porn.

I could feel that its a nice robot (better than humans). Inocent, naive. Love it's eyes. Great details in the scene.
