i suggest you place some Boxes of different dimensions,
a box is a box, just add different kind of textures to them to create some variety between them.

The petrol can was an idea I was toying with, but I cant believe I didnt think of wine bottles. Not sure how to do a low poly wine bottle with an alpha channel. The ones I've done for an old client may work. This one time (at band camp) me and a colleague were working on a CAD package and had to make an adjustable wine rack that could have random bottles in it. Not fun to code and even less fun to watch our crappy renderer chug its way down 600 opaque wine bottles!

"one time in band camp" that reminds me of a time i spent smuggling goats cheese out of a small shed in brittainy. i remember it well, there were metal shelves with all manner of things on, but mostly cheese.

oh the good old days,

remember to put a sticker on side of petrol can saying "pour mon 2CV" it aint french otherwise.

another idea would be vaguly dirty old postcards, a good smuggler cant be without them

how about some leaky patches on those boxes, like they had some wine/chemicals/food in and were dropped in transit and the contents leaked out and stained the cardboared round the bottom. a nice "soft" squashed corner as well, from being dropped.
