View Full Version : Dual 30" display setup
DominikSusmel 08-11-2005, 12:42 PM Purely out of masochistic nature..heh..what kind of graphics card setup is needed to run dual 30" Apple displays on PC at 2560x1600 each? Could it be done with 2 7800GTX cards?

Ok...there is gonna be a lot of 'dual' in following sentence so pay attention.
You gonna need either two single dual-link DVI graphics cards or single dual dual-link graphics card as a Quadro 4000+(I'm not sure about 3400 tho).

There has already been some talk about 7800GTX having dual-link capabilities, but I'am not sure if this varies from manufacturer to manufacturer or has it been set in specification by nvidia. Yes, dual-link DVI connectors on graphics cards are still hard to find in consumer spectrum. Most professional graphics cards do have one or two tho. There is also a problem with 30" apple cinema display DVI connectors being too wide to put side by side even on Quadro 4000 as I gather. There are some solutions to that tho.
