View Full Version : Deals on Dell 2005FPW?
AdamantiumKnot 08-11-2005, 06:36 AM Just wondering if anyone knows of any deals going on for this monitor or where the cheapest place to get it is. Thanks for any help. I've been reading that people were getting it for $380 or so and I can't find anything cheaper than $490 or so.

I just went through the same thing... Some people go on line and find dell coupon codes. The thing is you dont know when they are available and for how much. I also didnt want to wait for it to ship. Last week they said "ships usually 1-2 weeks".
So I gave up on it did some research and bought the 8ms 19" samsung from newegg for 329. Ive had it know for a few days and am happy it wasnt available. I have a tendancy to get caught up and just buy things. I was a mouse click away from spending $150 more on the dell and waiting 2weeks for 1 more inch. Its not so much the money as it is knowing your stupid hahaha... The dell does have a slightly better color reproduction but sitting behind this thing I can honestly say you would have to have them side by side to tell.
Buy what you want everybody is different. Anyway hope this helps.

Go to Techbargains.com and do a search for Dell and LCD.
Scroll down the list till you see the 2005FPW or 20" wide screen entry.
The price should now be below $400.00 usd.
The deals come and go on a frequent and regular basis (every few days) so if you don't see it listed, check again in 2 or 3 days.
I bought mine when it was around $450.00 (shipped to my door) and am pretty happy with it.
Note that this display is only 1" or so taller than a 17" CRT, due to the fact that it is a wide screen display.
I myself am going to look into the 24" widescreen once the price drops to something more reasonable for me.

Thanks for the site! I'll keep checking it and hopefully I can find it reasonably soon. I'm ordering a boxx 7400 tomorrow most likely so I'm putting more money into that then a higher end lcd monitor. I love my CRT but it's a pain to move a 55 lb monitor back and forth between school and home.
