Been a while since I posted anything I've done here. -- I did this last Saturday. I have an idea for at least another chair to add to the scene... and now since I finally have internet at home again.. (been down for 3 weeks) I'll be able to download the blueprints to model it. I'll add stuff to the shelves if I can think of stuff to add. But otherwise I'll chalk it up to another learning experience with radiosity. --- Only one point light outside the window lighting the scene. -- Radiosity set to 2 bounces though the difference between this and a one bounce with higher ambient is minimal.

Oh... and I'd really like to change the floor texture to one where the wood is long planks and a lighter color... anyone know where I could get such a texture?

The picture looks great . Here is a link to the best texture site i have found. I believe they will have what you need.

Thanks for the link Q-Bert119 =) As soon as I'm on a machine with Java Virtual Machine installed I'll check it out. =)

That's pretty good CTRL+X, I remember that being the scene for the challenge over at the architechtural err challenge forum. -- What is the URL overthere anyway? - I liked that site but never bookmarked it.

*edit*
Nevermind... I did a search and for anyone interested.. here is the link... they have a Lightwave forum too that needs your help!

Yea I grabbed the geometry a while back and never did anything with it, thought I'd dig it out and finish it just to see what i could do without any GI, just trying to light it as best I could the old fashioned way. I thought it turned out...ok

Interesting minus, what was the rendering time? what config?

As for the wood floor, I saw some at

Hey, that couch looks familiar... are you the one who made the blue room with radiosity that had such a problem with long render times? I really liked that blue room pic! I love making/viewing good architectural images in lightwave, it's so easy to get an really nice looking image by only adding things like the soft filter and some high antialiasing. Keep up the good work on this room!

Heyas.. thanks for the comments. =)
Yup I did the blue room pic that is hanging on the wall... and yup... I just ripped the couch from that scene into this one. That is one thing pretty cool about architectural modeling in that if you get an idea to model something like a chair.... that chair is there for you anytime you need it in any of your rooms. -- Well... I guess that is a benefit of 3D in general. ;)
