View Full Version : Annoying problem while rotating subselections during unwrap uvw?
PIXAR 10-31-2002, 05:32 PM modeling is done, all the UV's are almost unstretched and I sweared a lot ;-(
is there anyway to make "rotate around subselection work while working in the UV edit window (unwrap uvw mod).
So when i move my UV's i can't rotate subselections properly (doesn't rotate around the subselection centre) on my mesh (i always hide my polies that i don't need)

Not certain what you're asking here, but if you press Ctrl + Alt while in in Unwrap's rotate mode, you can rotate about wherever you click in the Unwrap Viewport (same for scale). Or (in Max 5) you can use the Freeform gizmo and place the axis wherever you'd like to rotate/scale around.

mmm no, that's not my problem
a bit more clear:
1. i see my model (subselection) in the viewports and beside that the uv edit window with the unwrapped mesh.
2. i want to rotate my subselection (to see if all stretching is gone) but it doesn't turn around his centre (it should, i selected Arc Rotate SubObject). It turns with enormous circles, impossible to work like that.
PS: it's like you turn an object to inspect it and it's pivot is far away from the centre.
PS2: All works fine before i apply the uvw unwrap, after that i can't turn a subselection around it's centre anymore:shame:

You'll need to actually select the faces in the Unwrap Select Face sub-object mode; a selection made in the Edit dialog (with the show selection in viewport on) does not actually constitute a sub-object selection for Arc-Rotate purposes.
