Hi All
This is my first lipsync attempt/practice... using reference from Cameron Miyasaki's (http://www.cameronmiyasaki.com/) website...is that ok??
C&C Welcome!

Looks good...especially the hand movements:thumbsup:

I would say that you need to rework the mouth animation a little, it seems a little 'drifty' in places.

If you are worried about using other peoples animation as reference material, try using some live action instead... Comedians are especially good to use as they can get quite animated at times. (Pardon the pun!).

Keep up the good work! :)

His hands are really animated, and look pretty good. His head and spine seem really static. Try to loosen those up a little, like the hands.

first thing you should know about lip synch in particular is taht you always to have to hit ur visual cues before they sound actually makes it out.. if i had to guess it would have to be because of how the brain works but the way it is now your synch is very late.. like 3 or maybe 5 frames late.. bring the mouth animation back and your bound to feel a crazy difference

Junerahe Yes! I tried it...heres the blast (http://www.geocities.com/ashutosh_na/animations/lipsync.zip). PLz let me know how can i further improvise it.

Adam crockett Have not worked on the spine part...the head i have moved a bit but will add more movement before the next post... thank for the suggestion!:)

Simon M working on it...:)

Thanks guys for the critics.. keep m' coming!

need some more critics!

(Due to data transfer limit the site is some times disabled it goes up again in an hour or so...if its showing any errors while downloading its probably because of data transfer limit. My apologies for the inconvinience...will buy a server space soon!:))

Thanks

Ah..Its better, But I think it could be pushed further. I'd love to see his whole body as animated as his hands. Something about the motion of his body just seems really static next to the motion in his hands.

His right (our left) foot lifts off the ground wierd (on the first step). You pick it straight up off the ground, it should sorta peel up from the heel and slide back.

Lipsinc still looks a little behind the soundtrack, especially towards the end. It could just be the playback on this machine. I'll try to rememeber to look at it at work tomorrow.

It looks really good though, nice work.

Hey there. I really dig your anim.

However... :)

There's a huge contrast between your hands and your body. They move a lot and that makes the body feel stiff... not actually STIFF but it's like he doesn't move enough (I hope this makes sense). The step-back also bothers me. Not in the "animation side" but rather in the "acting side". I just can't see a reason for him to to that step.

That's pretty much all I have to say.
Outstanding work! :D

great stuff.
it starts with a great sync and it finishs nice too. it's just the part that the guy speaks fast, you cant keep as fast.
my idea : move both collar bones up at the same time and down slowly when he says "eveybody knows looog...":p
Keep it up;)

your animation lacks pretty much all the principles OF animation. part of the problem is that you're trying to emulate cameron miyazaki, arguably one of the best animators on the planet. those of us who have seen the piece that you're trying to copy have no choice but to compare the two...

i'd say, and i hope this doesn't discourage you, but you should really go back to the bouncing ball. a lot of necessary priciples can be learned from that simple exercise. either way, keep on truckin!

Firstly thanks for your frank opinion. nothing will discourage me …I am here to learn!

In fact the critics form experienced people like your self in this industry will only help me grow…

No.. i have no intensions of getting compared to anyone… I just took the piece to work on as it was ready! and if I recorded my voice with my english accent... maybe it will need subtitling:)

neways for now i have made some changes in the same animation

Howdy :)

I believe you can push the torso a little bit further. For example when he says "DIED" you could make him crouch a little just before that and then make him go all the way up when he says DIED.

And on a side note, Miyasaki or not, I still can't find a reason for that backstep.. It's just that if it was me actually having that conversation with someone else, I would not do that backstep... but that's just my personal opinion.

BTW where did you download that character? I could also use it for some animations :D
