View Full Version : Demo Reel Matthew Akin 2005 [animator]
Mattronic 08-09-2005, 05:12 PM Hey all, I just finished my demo reel.
I put together a website hosted on
my class mate's [chrisluce (http://www.chrisluce.com/)] website.
http://www.chrisluce.com/www/matt (http://www.chrisluce.com/www/matt)
Like the ms paint layout?
Anyways take a look. I haven't been able to save mov as a "quickstart" movie...
if anyone can help me fix that problem, please leave me a message.
640x480 [23.5mb .mov] (right click save target as) (http://www.chrisluce.com/www/matt/MatthewAkin_AnimationReelLarge.mov)

Your reel shows good staging skills, but I feel it has a weak animation, as any character seems to carry along movements with the same pace. I would work attitudes more, to make a strong contrast appear when two characters are in the same scene interacting one with each other. Also, I would try to get a better balance on poses, add a little overlap after heavy strides, and keep an eye on feet resting firmly on the ground during contacts in walks.

hey
i think ure reel is decent enough, the first bit with the guy running away with the helacopter thing is pretty good although there is room for improvement on a lot of it (also the sound fx really put me off at times).
i like the piece with the audio from 'back to the future' best (at least i think thats wat its from?), it could be a little more expresive and over the top, but i still feel its the best on ure reel.
i would get rid of the cat/lion cycle it seems pretty poor compared to the rest.
decent reel
cheers
