I was doing the cosman tutorial on fingers, when I click on the bone and bank, how come it does not load up in the channels box automatically like on the tutorial ? It seem like you have to go the long route and pick it from the list on each part so it adds more work.. Is there something I'am missing?

Thanks

Something about the new version of Mess. It doesn't automatically load the channels automatically into the box anymore. You have to do it manually.

You should know that several things in Joe's tutorials no longer work the same way as they did when he made the tutorial. It's a bit frustrating, I know.

There is a checkbox in the channels block that, when active, will load the current object's channel. why they did it this way, I dont know. I prefer the old way: always on.

Oh, now that is cool - one of my favorite interaction options - unlabeled, un-flyouted buttons without icons or anything else...
Man those guys really have a screw loose when it comes to interface design...

"They're comming to take me away haha, they'r comming to take me away..." :bounce:

There are no eastereggs in messiah since messiah IS an easteregg.

Grrrrrr....

I'd say the Messiah and ZBrush folks must have gone to the same school of user interface design before parting company to start working on their respective applications ;)

I think they were at different schools:
In Zbrush, while the overall workflow is sometimes weird from a 3D perspective, everything is labeled, has adjustable flyouts and the help is usually up to speed as well as the tutorials. While it is different from most other apps, since V2 it is quite usable IMO.

messiah is easier to grasp on the surface, but has a lot of areas where you have to be using it all the time to even notice that there may be something cool. And neither are there flyouts nor does the help mention this. The changes from Version to Version aren't really straightforward but more a back and forth without clear concept.
There are 5 other buttons in the Channels tab that I have no idea what they do (if they do anything at all).
And I am no longer interested in the "hunt for the unlabeled button" - I had my share of this, thank you.

Sick.

Good point. I think it would be beneficial for everyone involved if pmG spent some time finishing up Develop and and the UI... but that won't stop me from making fun of them -- or of Pixologic :D
