View Full Version : light rendering problem
verti 10-31-2002, 10:18 AM take a look at the pic. the "cup" does not have any texture assigned. ive got about 4 light from different direction. none of them is negative. why the bottom part of the "cup" is so dark?! cant figure it out...
even when i assigned a really bright texture on it's like this... ;\
i work with c4d for years... and i have never seen somethin' like this before ;\
HELP!

strange! changing smoothness angle limit did the thing... can someone explain this? im just curious... why changing angle of smoothness can create such a differences in the rendering?
excuse me my english...

hmm... i have no idea, i've got some of those weird smooths a few times, is the side of the cup just one poly high where it gradients from black to grey?

it's a NURBS object... so it's not one poly... but yeah 2 point spline in the bottom section. i mean...

<- side of the cup...

just a thought how about you copy the cup into a new project window and test render with one light then you can tell if its modelling/texture related as opposed lighting setup? The lighting on the bottom of the cup seems wierd though...also how about ruling one light out at a time....or colour each light differently to see what you end up with allowing you to tell better what each light is doing to the scene. but really i haven't got a clue....i just thought try and narrow it down by a process of elimination.
