tell me what you think
I really had to compress it and shrink it,
If you'd like to see it full size(1024 x 768), uncompressed then email me

hoho, very cool! at the first sight I thought it was a 3dmodel. I'm really impressed, great style, nice pose. the only thing that dosen't fit (imho) is the swordblade, it looks really flat, might wanna give it a "line" in the middle of the blade (or something like that) and thicken it up some just to give it more details and volume.
overall superduper great work!

Thanks man!
I was thinking of the sword as a lightsaber type energy blade thats really thin and flat, so thats why it looks that way, but Ill play around with it.
Thanks!
Hi
Cool work man. But the right leg is a little bit drilled, or???
Really looks like a 3D modell with a absolutly cool cell shader on it.
Hope to see some more. :)

I think core means it is a bit twisted (disfigured?) Very nice job, and certainly a different design for a drawing.
see you,

I am playing with two versions of this image, a red and a blue. I think I like the blue best, but let me know which you like more.
Here is the red version:

I´d like to know how you did it ?
I have no idea how you accomplished this,
also thought it´s 3d at first sight...

I like blue more also.
Tim, first I blocked out the overal shape with the paintbrush in photoshop, then went back in and added the light, shadows and details using the mostly the airbrush, dodge, burn and smear tools. That's pretty much it.
This pic is what it looked like near the beginning:

Arlend,
This character looks great!! I really like the legs you've given him. Are you considering doing a background and vehicle also? I'd love to see that.
keep it up,

Thanks Batmanuel!
Its great to hear compliments like that! I'm pretty new to this Photoshop thing, and the encouragement is much appreciated!
As far as making a vehicle or landscape also, id love to but I dont have the time right now(im working on another project as part of my apprenticeship at LostBoys Studios)
I will be posting a full res version of my picture as soon as I can get it on my own server.
Here is an updated pic of my entry, more dynamic lighting, and little tweaks here and there:

Still looking good Arlend. I would maybe take down the lens flare off the sword just a bit. I really like the organic yet solid feel to the armor. One critique though would be to possibly darken his fingers a bit. Maybe use the dark colors that you've incorporated into his waist/hips connections. This might offset the hands from the rest of the body (mostly to seperate his left hand from the chest).
Great job,
Batmanuel

Here is the newest version of the pic(full res!), not much has changed, but I did darken the fingers slightly and brighten the highlights.

I think you've darkened the fingers just enough to seperate them from the rest of the body. Very nice.
Keep pushing it...

man ... I've seen some drawings in this caliber from pros using a waycom, but this is pretty intense for a mouse drawing, how old did you say you are?
very nice work!
