View Full Version : Maya 7 64-bit?

I had heard rumors that it is and while deciding on 64-bit XP to go along with my 64-bit hardware I need to know if this version is actually 64-bit and therefore perform better all around. Not too interested in breaking the 3/4 GB barrier but rather performance that a 64-bit core of Maya would bring......anyone know?

To the best of my understanding it is not 64 bit. They are currently have a 64 bit version in alpha/beta.

cgtriguy is right, Maya 7 isn't 64-bit but they have one in alpha testing at some studios.

mental ray 3.4 standalone is 64 bit. its on the alias page. i guess its better then nothing
just mentioning it because im thinking of convening work to get for me.
