Hello, I was hoping someone wouldn't mind just a few quick answers to my questions. Nothing big, I'm just not sure about the following:
1) When I'm exporting from Zbrush and I cage the model why do I get a spiked/pointy version?
2) Why not just use a lower subd version instead of caging?
3) Alot of tutorials say that once I've imported my cage into Maya I need to smooth poly (once or twice) before adding the displacement map. Why not just import a higher subd level from Zbrush and not smooth (smoothing in Maya seems to raise the poly count higher than just importing a higher level from Zbrush)?
4) When I'm trying to place a displacement map on my model should I expect it to turn green (implying a texture) before rendering?
Think that's it. Any help is appreciated.
