Just to let everyone know, I've been busy updating the website (still busy working at it, but at what's there is now live), and now there are two.

The Third Party gets it's own domain name www.thirdpartyplugins.com (http://www.thirdpartyplugins.com) and my own website gets an update at www.peranders.com (http://www.peranders.com)

For all the forum users the forum is now at the following three links:

http://forum.peranders.com

Other Information -

The Mesh Surgery for R9 is sitll in beta, the latest build was shown at Siggraph operating in 9.5, 9.5 is the build that we will aim for it will be released for (it should work in 9.1 but there are certain bugs that will become apparent with 9.1 that are fixed in 9.5), though there is still quite some work to be done so it iwll be a little while away yet.

We are also working on an update to Storm Tracer, which is reorganising the core into a more flexible system for future development, at the same time we have a nice update to XStacy::Elements that should give it a very nice speed boost, especially for Mac users and a little more functionality and more complete compatability with Cinema's own system.

New developments on the way include Spider, a node based compositing system and realtime post system for Cinema. Doodle, an annotation and traditional animation tool. Tension tag, a system for helping create wrinkles and stretches on meshes and additionally the constrainer tag may finally be released. Other projects information will be released in due course.

For more information and visual examples of these tools please check my showreel available on my website gallery and here (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=265429).

Enjoy!

Very convincing reel, Per - I especially like the mood you´ve created in the cinematic scenes. Like a distant, but vivid memory - great stuff indeed.

I´m also intriqued by the preview of the tools to come. How far are you from releasing Spider, Tension tag and doodle?
Anyway, I´m certain the reel will help you attain whatever you intended with it...

Cheers

You guys should turn your plugs into a Third Party production bundle. Would make sense to buy them all in one fell swoop since there's so many of them now.

Tension tag sounds also interesting--
will that be a single product or inluded in something like Stormtracer2?

I'm really wary about buying plugins, mostly because I usually can't make a business case for them (yet); but Spider sounds like it will be a no-brainer for me. Not sure whether I'll be getting the 9.5 matte painting tools, but those in conjunction with Spider sounds pretty powerful to me.

So a question for you, Per-Anders: If I'm not mistaken, you're an XSI user as well; how will Spider compare to XSI's compositor? I've had a chance to use it (at least 4.2's version) a bit and rather like it, though I've never used Shake, DF, etc., so I don't really have a basis for comparison.

Best,
Andrew

This is really a great idea. One I think would be beneficiary to everyone. The plugin developers would probably sell more of their work. C4d would become even more professional. It will sort of feel integrated without having maxon to do support for it. And ofcourse the users would get it at an attractive price. haha.

I was wondering what happenned to you guys. :)

This is exciting news. I will definitely get the MS upgrade. I hate the R9 modelling workflow. I mean its good the functions have been added, but I am so used to MS that modelling in R9 is awkward for me.

Good to know there are new tools coming as well.

Nice reel.

Doodle has me most intrigued. Can you give us more info?

Hi, all the tools shown are a little way away from commercial completion, we're showing them to give a little taster of some of what we're up to behind closed doors, so you know we're not dead! I wont be giving out any release dates yet, though naturally more information and release schedule will become available as time progresses and as and when we're ready.

olli wuensch - the tension tag is likely to be a seperate tool.

flingster - The website and reel typo's should be fixed now.

daaaaaaaamn..... that's just awesome. This is very exciting. So much good news around here lately just makes the heart beam.

Also Per... I hope that you will also find time to post your updated XStacy scheme (the one with the new tabs and orange highlights).

Joy! :applause:

Brilliant. Can't say i'm happy with having to pay 300 Bucks (for 9.5 which doesn't add anything I need) + Update Fee to fully use a Plugin I already paid for after not being able to use it for months. Is there anyone outhere paying attention to hobby users? You know the ones who made C4D big.

Spider and tension tag both look interesting. Spider has a very son-of-XSI sort of look to its GUI. :)

Per-Anders,

Amazing stuff...... we never doubted you, honest! You may have just stopped me from doing something rash and putting my 9.5 upgrade money towards XSI :)

Does Spider have all the general compositing features that XSI provides (eg you can use it on any bit of film/series of frames not just ones from inside XSI itself)?

Martin

Eek! I've just realised... 9.5 update, ST 2, Spider! Hmmm, where did I put that bank manager?!

ahh...,siddhi...when people look at a tree, they usually forget the roots.

it is indeed a bit sad that to get some things work (textures stick,...) that are bugs, you need to pay for an upgrade. But all big companies are like that. Don't blame Maxon. My intuition tells me the tension tag is coming from Nemetchek's share holders.
Cinema is, in a way, turning into that what we wanted to avoid in other apps. Which is why we turned to it.

But I guess there will be a fair upgrade price for MS and storm owners.
And, attractive as they are, you don't need all plugins at the same time, do you?

I just want to have my Mesh Surgery back. I used it all the time in 8.5 and since 9 i have no possibility to use it. And no, its no argument to drop an expensive plugin only because suddenly some of the functions are identically implemented into the core (not crediting the 3rd party i must add).

Will Spider support After Effects plugins? AeFx plugins are the best on the market and there are plenty of them. I personally use Digital Fusion instead of AE because I hate the standard Adobe layout, but Digital Fusion supports AE plugins too and I couldn't do anything without them.

I'm with Siddhy on this one, if possible do a separate version with the bugged features cut out.
