Hey guys, I have rendered a short 20 sec movie out in a Quicktime format. The models in the movie are just basic shapes. There is a fair amount of camera movement in it. I have noticed that I can play the mov file back fine when I run it from the hard drive, however I have noticed that when I burn the mov to a cd and playback I get a fair bit of jerky playback. I don't think it is my CD-ROM drive, other mov files playback just fine. My render settings are as follows:
antialiasing -> best
filter -> still image
transparency -> no refraction
reflection -> all objects
resolution -> 640x480 NTSC
film format -> suggested
pixel -> 1:1
frame rrate -> 30
format -> quicktime movie
dpi -> 200
alpha channel -> checked
24 bit dithering -> checked
radisoity -> none
caustics -> none
There must be something that I am not optimizing for the cd playback, but I don't know what it is.

Thanks in advance:thumbsup:

playback problems are to do with the quicktime codek you're using, if it's uncompressed then that's your reason... try using sorrenson 3, or even better mpeg4. that hsould solve your problem for you. (it's a case of too much data for the speed of the cd to actually load).

The 2X CDROM sorenson settings in QT pro are all you need /.. your 3D rener setytings have no impact on playback

try media cleaner if you have the chance...

640x480 is quite big for cd-rom-playback.. have you tried a smaller size and increase the playback-size? or limit the bit-rate per second

and why the 200 dpi? if it's only for screen-display 72 dpi should do just fine...

DPI does nothing unless it is printed. DPI is irrelevant when the size of the computer screen changes from user to user :-)

200 DPI on my screen isn't 200 DPI on your screen.
