Title: Calming Place
Name: Daniel Moos
Country: Switzerland
Software: CINEMA 4D

If I had a stressful day, the first thing i'm gonna do, when I'm coming home is getting rid of all the bad things by sitting down and reading a magazine.
Here I tried to create an ambiente where I wouldn't have any problems to relax.

modeling an rendering was done in Cinema4D 8.5XL.
For lightning I use 3 selfilluminating planes with radiosity. No lights where used.
the raw render didn't look very impressive, so I had to do some color and artefact correction in Paint Shop Pro8.

Here's the raw render, it looks slightly different than the final image...

I hope you like It. Please tell me what you're thinking about the colourcorrection and the composition.

thx for viewing

It seems to have still a lot artefacts.

The scene is maybe a bit too simple. Add some more details like a toilet brush and a magazine... :)

Make the floor texture a bit bigger.

while Ultimatums statement about mental ray artifacts may be true i think you did a very nice (simple, yet effective) job with the post work. Artifacts in the 'final' image arent noticable as they are in the final render.

Colour and brightness corrections are nice too, perhaps add some dust to excentuate the rays of sunlight?

THe one thing it is missing is age ands scruff. No floor around a toilet is going to look that fresh. Smudge up the smooth surfaces... just a bit.

I like the render. First thing i saw was the wood floor, the texture needs to be bigger. Overall good job.

I think this is great the way it is (touched up version, I mean)

There are a few artifacts and no dirt in the scene, but it works well and lighting is simply perfect.

I think the composition/cropping is wrong.

It looks like a product visualisation (and not a particularly nice product :)). If you're trying to depict an environment or its ambience, you should pull out and show some more of it.
